Description

The seeing was superlative given the low 25 degree elevation of the moon. I rated it a 3, if the moon were higher in the sky, I have no doubt I would have rated the seeing a 4 - very rare in my driveway! I took two clips, the first was no good due to light artifacts as it was only a few minutes past sunset and my 610nm filter did not block enough of the still bright sky. For the second and last clip, it was a race between finishing my capture and the roof of my neighbors house - as luck would have it, my capture won the race - by arc seconds! PLEASE look at full size.... there is a bit of noise, but the tiny craterlets that are visible at the pixel level are astonishing to me. A good night - I had high hopes as even my daytime effort a couple of hours before using my 850nm IR filter yielded a good result (though of course not as good as this) , and binoviewing was fantastic. ))

Clear Skies!!

Mike
